Coming out in the same month that the Dante's Inferno game is (February 2010), we're also going to get an animated feature based on the same vision that Viseral Games is putting forth. It's created by some of the people behind Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo, and Blood the Last Vampire so it could possibly be pretty cool.
If someone did a comedy spoof about "anime taking on classic literature" it would look identical to this. Except it would be trying to be absurd and accidently be spot on.
This looks like a travesty.
I want to see the kid who watches this instead of reading the book for class and then has to take a test...
Agreed. Nothing I like better than getting new and interesting takes on classical/biblical tales. Loved The Prophecy. I think Legion looks great.
As will all book based movies, if you take them as two separate things, you can enjoy both.
