Weekend Boxoffice Chart

Michael Jackson's much-hyped concert movie danced to number 1 at the box office on Sunday, but its performance was hardly a thriller.

  2. Paranormal Activity $16.5/$84.7
  3. Law Abiding Citizen $7.3/$51.3
  4. Couples Retreat $6.0/$86.6
  5. Saw VI $5.5/$22.8
  6. Where the Wild Things Are $5.0/$61.8
  7. The Stepfather $3.4/$24.7
  8. Astro Boy $3.0/$10.8
  9. Amelia $3.0/$8.3
  10. Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant $2.8/$10.5
  11. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs $2.7/$118.5
  12. Zombieland $2.6/$71.1

Man, the new Boondock Saints isn't even on there.

Re: All Saints Day, Peter Fonda is pretty amazing, and the humor is fun, but it doesn't have the narrative bite of the first film. Lots of guns, lots of dead italians, lots of poorly-explained Catholic imagery, but...meh.

Found this review, which pretty much sums it up:

That sucks. The first movie is one of my favorites of all time. I've been waiting since I saw it for the sequel. I'm sure I'll still enjoy it.

According to Boxofficemojo.com it opened in limited release (Only 68 theaters, but it made an average of $6,794.00 a theater, which is more than "This Is It!" did.

The first film is one of the great genre movies of the last 20 years. It's funny, action packed, and well written. Go seek it out if you haven't.

Zombieland was surprisingly good. Light, fun entertainment. The BM scene literally had me in tears.

I saw Paranormal Activity with the wife and we both thought it was terrific. One of the scariest movies I've seen in years.

Agreed. A definite wait for DVD movie, if at all.

Zombieland was all kinds of awesome. Would love to see a *good* game done based on this movie.

It looks like it's available for streaming on Netflix, noticed it last night before going to sleep. Think I'm gonna watch that tonight, since it seems to get good word of mouth (and a high rating for a netflix movie too).
