Are Dead Center & Hard Rain the Last Two L4D2 Campaigns?
Alright, we already know three of the five campaigns for Left 4 Dead 2. We've got The Parish, Swamp Fever, and Dark Carnival. Now, over on the Steam forums some Taiwan website seems to have uncovered the final two. One is called Dead Center, with the tagline of "Prices aren't the Only things getting Slashed"... and the final campaign looks to be called Hard Rain, "Come Hell and High Water". The first appears to be set in a mall, while the second looks to be some urban or industrial campaign with a ton of rain.
Check out the two posters they located after the break.
It has 5 main campaigns, each one as long as one of the original 4.
It's launching with survivor mode, which means another good 15 or so survivor levels.
It's also launching with the new scavenge type of gameplay, which will probably have 5 or 6 levels.
Not to mention that it's already mod compatible with all the L4D original mods, but that's a moot point if you're playing on 360.
So yeah, "just as long". I expect to get another 100+ hours out of it.

Well anything Valve should be on the PC as 360 makes you pay for anything extra which is just fail.
I guess the original was fun enough, but only about 20 hours of fun for me. So maybe the new modes may be intriguing enough to pick up. I will wait for the inevitable sale.

Also..not sure why people bother arguing with teecakes... I sincerely believe now that he is a bot built by Sony and unleashed on small community sites.
Just played some L4D last night. Crash Course really is pretty awful, as in completely uninspired, and thrown together without thought. In fact, in the finale, the tank spawns close to the survivors in a predictable location. So, basically you start as a Tank in a lake of flames because anyone who has played it more than once, knows to keep a fire burning over there. Shameful. Just shameful.
Cannot wait for L4D2. Scavenge alone will keep me entertained for a long time.

They should have a versus mode that's a bit more oppositional--sorta the way that Splinter Cell was: You can play either as gun wielding dude, or as zombie, or a cadre of zombies.
Your goal is to sneak in on the shooters, their job to hold a position. Zombies get lives, shooters get health that can't be replenished.
Then it's all out war. That sounds like it would be fun for both sides.
Now, I never played L4D, so this is the part where someone chimes in and says, "They already have that!" It wouldn't be the first time ;P

Eh, Crash Course is pretty fun in VS mode. I've played it several times and it's just brutal for survivors. No one in my group has made it to the finale event yet. So awesome and quick. We wiped the survivors last Thursday on the finale when the left the safe room.
It could be that the 360 version has more helping props planted along the way.
If and when you ever make it to the finale in VS, just throw a tank of gas onto the platform above the generator. Just about the time you figure a Tank should appear, light it up. He will spawn in flames. From there just finish him with the turret, and jump into the get-away car. As I said, shameful (and we haven't even had a chance to try it, not that we want to, because we learned of it after our turn as Survivors).
As for wiping the survivors out, we call it, "Ten feet out the door." and conversely, when they get to where they are bleeding in front of the safe house, fingernails remaining in scratches on the floor, we call it "Ten feet from the door." And when accomplished, we shout it out with hoots and hollers and accompany it with much jumping.
The game's intensity and excitement is inversely proportional to the number of survivors who make it to safety. There should never be a round where all four survivors make it to safety. lol
