Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising "Fog of War" Video
Codemasters’ sandbox shooter Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising intensifies the action of war by putting gamers in the frontlines. The latest “Fog of War” developer video takes you into the trenches with Codemasters Studios development team, showing behind-the-scenes footage of the latest technology and special effects in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
Looks interesting, I doubt this will fill my need for a good simulation, but it might be fun anyway.

I've seen several previews knocking the visuals ("last gen" etc etc), but since I finished the original game and the expansion on PC I'll give it a go.
Let's face it. This is Flashpoint... if it stays true to form the graphics are of minor concern. The original was butt-ugly on PC but we played it to death all the same.
I'd be happy to play the exact same game but with the graphics shown in the trailer. Hopefully we get more than that of course but I'd still be happy with that. :P

Let's face it, this is not Flashpoint. Every video indicates this is a lot more arcady than Flashpoint. I agree on the graphics part, I could care less if the graphics are slightly out of date, give me the realism Flashpoint offered.

ArmA and ArmA 2 are the real Flashpoint successors, not this.
Yes, yes... I understand that this is not Bohemia Interactive but Arma and Arma II did not improve on the original game (IMO of course). To be honest I've not paid too much attention to the development so I can't comment on the arcadey elements. However if this captures 'the feel' of Flashpoint I'll be happy. That this 'feel' was not a result of its visuals for me is the point I was driving at.

This looks excellent to me. I don't have the time to play it and MW2, so it's a shame I won't experience this game. It's apparent that a large amount of quality effort went to making Flashpoint.

Arma did not IMPROVE on the previous op.flash game. Wheres the difficulty here? Here are some examples. The original Flashpoint had far more vehicles, classes, weapons and better single player missions. While arma using the same engine (as does arma II) had an anemic vehicles/weapons list, awful single player missions not to mention buggy as all hell. The game shipped feeling and looking very unfinished. That to me is not improving on the previous game. Don't mean to be bitchy, hell Id be happy if they only made operation flashpoint (elite) backwards compatible for the 360.
