Several big name titles have been released on Steam today. Unfortunately not all of the games are available in all territories yet. Red Faction: Guerrilla is available in "North and South America and coming later this week to additional territories." Resident Evil 5 is now available in "many countries, including those in North and South America, plus most of Asia. The game will be available on Friday most everywhere else." You can still pre-order it at a 10% discount in territories where it has not been released yet. There's no word at the time of this article on the territorial availability of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Zuma's Revenge.
Batman: Arkham Asylum exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum - Gotham's psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City's most notorious villains who have taken over the asylum.
Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.
From the ashes of old conflicts, a new terror arises. The Umbrella Corporation and its crop of lethal viruses have been destroyed and contained. But a new, more dangerous threat has emerged. Years after surviving the events in Raccoon City, Chris Redfield has been fighting the scourge of bio-organic weapons all over the world. Now a member of the Bio-terrorism Security Assessment Alliance (B.S.A.A.), Chris is sent to Africa to investigate a biological agent that is transforming the populace into aggressive and disturbing creatures. Joined by another local BSSA agent, Sheva Alomar, the two must work together to solve the truth behind the disturbing turn of events. Featuring a revolutionary new co-op mode of gameplay, Resident Evil 5 will let players experience fear together as terror moves out of the shadows and into the light of day.

I was about to have a shitfit when I went to install Batman:AA when steam said it was too busy...retried it and it went okay. When will it be the norm for Steam to allow predownloads for non-valve content? I was standing right in front of a PC copy today, and wish I hadn't preordered it on steam.
Getting RE5 myself, and probarbly Batman sometime later.
laggerific: whenever you get "server busy" just switch download region in your Steam options. I was getting 3-400kb/s yesterday downloading L4D, but for some reason my server region was set to "Benelux". Set it back to Scandinavia and it was 3.2mb/s, so the servers can vary greatly.
