The Japanese Wii title, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, wasn't supposed to come across the pond... but the latest issue of Nintendo Power allegedly proves that it is indeed headed to North America. Kotaku:

They said it couldn't happen, but it is! Fighting extravaganza Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is coming to North America.
This could be cool, but I'll still probably just be playing SFIV.
The fighting system looked awesome from all the videos i've seen. I don't care much for tatsunoko, but some of the capcom characters in this game make me want it badly.
Tatsunoko is a Japanese production company partly responsible for the growing anime market around the world. Probably their biggest license is Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, which came to the States as Battle of the Planets/G-Force.
I own the import and enjoy it greatly. I'm not a big fan of the fighting system though, as the controls aren't standard SF fare. That said, having a team of Ken from Gatchaman and Ryu is super nerd cool. An added bonus is the character's theme song playing when you tag him in.
I'll rent this because the battle system looks fun, and the 3D graphics are nice. But, even as a long time anime fan, I barely know of Tatsunoko. G-Force, Karas, and Casshern are the only ones that ring any bells. I'm quite surprised to see this one being released here.
The arcade version was running on Wii-based hardware, and the Wii version has been out a while in Japan with no announcement of a PS3/x360 version even being in the works so I'd say it's safe to say we won't be seeing it on any other console at least for quite some time.

A mall arcade near where I live had imported one of these arcade cabinets, and the game looked pretty similiar to MvC2, albeit with more detailed background and better special effects. I'd probably pick this up for 360 if it came out here in the states, although I probably wouldn't pay the full $60 for it like I did SFIV.

And for me SFIV has provided more game time than any other release this year.
What a year for beat-em-ups. BlazBlue is en route, Battle Fantasia, Street Fighter IV, a new KOF, Tasunoko vs Capcom... so great to see this genre given new life.

I keed, I keed, but really, I have never heard of the company that isn't Capcom. Even when one of you guys went over the anime that they have made - zero recognition.

Seriously? You've never seen "Battle of the Planets"? If not, then that's a shame. Dubbed old-school anime at its finest.
