The classic platformer Mega Man 2 is now available to purchase for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It follows a trend of big-name publishers supporting the growing games platform.

Continuing a week of surprise revelations for iPhone and iPod Touch users, Capcom today released an iPhone version of its infuriating NES classic Mega Man II. It's priced at $5 and weighs in at 13.2 MB, meaning you won't be able to download it via 3G or Edge.
Capcom points out that the gameplay has been rebalanced for iPhone, which is undoubtedly for the best, as a touch screen-controlled port of platformer that demands absolute precision problably isn't the best idea, especially given the amount of broken gamepads that Mega Man II has left in the wake of its multiple incarnations.
MegaMan 2 is my favorite in the series, this almost make me want to go buy an iPod Touch to replace my old 3rd gen iPod. Now if only someone could tell me if Metal Gear Solid Touch is actually good I might just justify getting it and both these games.

I don't understand the ire Megaman 2 gets for being hard. I beat the crap out of that game and I was like 2.
I can beat it now wihtout even thinking about what I'm doing most of the time.
Now on the Iphone I can imagine it being that much harder, but the NES one was fine.
On the normal mode the game is quite easy. When you play it on "hard", or the only version in the Japanese game, it ramps up in difficulty.
On normal a couple of Metal Blades kills everything. The real version has every weapon doing half damage to bosses (2 Metal Blades kill Metal Man instead of one)
