Either I am completely out of touch or this developer is, but who exactly is the target audience for this game, or even this license at this stage?
First off, for people of my generation- in elementary school when the first Star Wars movie came out- Ghostbusters was amusing and entertaining, but it was hardly Han Solo cool. But this is over twenty years later and neither my kids nor I could give a crap about it now. Secondly, I think anytime the subtitle for something says what the medium is, I think that is a really bad sign. Ghostbusters: the video game?!?! That's like, EvilAvatar.com: the website. I just don't see it generating interest among anybody.
But, I am usually wrogn.

Ghostbusters is my favorite movie of all time.
It was rated no.1 on IGN's Top 25 Comedies, and is one of the most financially successful comedy films ever.
And it's not like the market is overflooded on ghost-busting games.

I thought it was a good movie, and it looks like they are trying to make it a great game. My point was that it seems like a bizarre license to try to invest so much money in this long after the original movie. A lot of what made that movie great was the romantic tension with Sigourney Weaver and some of the goofiness of the Rick Moranis character. It is hard to see that translating into a game as effectively. To be clear, my point was not to claim that either the movie or this game suck or sucked, but that it seems like a really strange license for modern gamers.
