If it is Halloween, it must be SAW. Along with the Friday launch of SAW V in Theaters, Brash Entertainment sends along a reminder that they will be launching a SAW video game in October 2009.
Quote:
The SAW video game is set to release in October 2009, in conjunction with the next installment of the film series. SAW the video game will give fans of Jigsaw a reason to live. Collaborating closely with LionsGate and Twisted pictures, the video game will have its own unique storyline, taking place between SAW I and SAW II and focusing on questions left unanswered within the first film, while bridging the gap between the first and second films. In an effort to stay true to the SAW Universe, Brash is working closely with the SAW creators, Leigh Whannell and James Wan, ensuring the game pulls no punches, and delivers the horrifying suspense and disbelief that has floored fans worldwide. The SAW video game is currently in development for next-gen platforms, PS3 and Xbox 360, and will be built using the Unreal 3 game engine.
In the game are you a victim or the dude that hacks people apart? I've never actually seen a Saw movie, so I'm not familiar with how this might play out.

I don't really see how this could work. The Whole concept doesn't really lend itself very well to a game. The only way I could see it working is something like Tecmo's Deception. Playing as Jigsaw building a lair full of deathtraps. Even that would be a bit of a stretch. I guess they could always go the easy route and just make a puzzle game where you solve riddler-esque puzzles from Jigsaw.
If you are a Southern California resident, there is the official 'Saw Haunted Attraction' happening this month in Brea off the 57. We went a few nights ago, they had some pretty good gimmicks in there. Also, the length of the maze was very respectable - took us about ten minutes to get all the way through. I hope the movie is as good.
I really dug the first Saw. I thought it was one hell of a psychological thriller. There wasn't even all that much blood in the first film, relying on your mind to 'fill in the blanks' as it were. I think in subsequent films they have gone for more gore and less substance.
