The Flagship Studios Seattle team reforms as Runic Games. A snippet from the press release:
Quote:
The former Flagship Studios Seattle team is proud to announce their reformation as Runic Games (www.runicgames.com). As the team responsible for the highly-anticipated Mythos at Flagship Studios, Runic Games intends to continue to use their expertise in the Action-RPG MMO genre to create the best games in this market.
The studio is headed by Travis Baldree and Max Schaefer. Travis served as Project Director for Mythos at Flagship Seattle, and previously created the bestselling Action-RPG FATE. Max was the Executive Producer for Mythos, and one of the original founders of Blizzard North, the creators of the bestselling Diablo franchise. He was also one of the founding members of Flagship Studios.

Bandai-Namco took on whoever was left at Flagship to continue working on Hellgate: London. I suppose this is what happened to those who weren't so lucky.

Are they talking about Hellgate? Best in it's market? Bwahahaha!
Jerks, this is the Mythos team. That game was actually looking to be good, and was run by the Travis Baldree guy, who did the awesome FATE game. I was hoping he'd land on his feet somewhere and continue his rogue-like games, which kickass. I'm happy to see that's happened.
Now hopefully this new company will concentrate on just that, without the burden of a crappy Hellgate weighing them down.

Wasn't Fate that Wild Tangent game that had all of th spyware attached to it? That being said I did dig Mythos..I hope they bring it back.

Mythos is very solid and Travis is brilliant in terms of designing simple, addictive action RPG's. Fate was a LOT of fun to mess around with - unfortunately one of the distribution models for it was through WildTangent, and he didn't have full rights to make sure they kept their paws out of it, but everyone was very happy when he broke free and started working on Mythos with Flagship.
Hopefully he'll still be able to bring it to completion somehow. It's clearly a labor of love for him, and he deserves for people to be able to play it.
