IGN has the (rather sparse) details with an interview. Here's a nice tidbit:

IGN: The most important question. Will Rock Band 1 DLC be playable in Rock Band 2?
Dan Teasdale: Yes. We've been developing Rock Band as a music platform from the start. All of the songs that you've purchased so far (and will be able to purchase in the future) are instantly playable and fully supported in Rock Band 2. We've even added some cool new features that let you play your DLC in different ways, which I think people will be very excited to get their hands on.
During the last question Mr. Teasdale jokingly mentions a few Australian bands without saying if they're actually in the game or not. But if some newer Silverchair stuff makes an appearance, I will **** numerous bricks. Seriously.
Editor's Note - In the same article they announce that the 360 version of the game will be released first in September. The game will release on "all relevant platforms" by the end of the year.
Also - he wouldn't be mentioning Australian bands because - it looks like if Rock Band EVER launches down here - it'll only be a few months before GH:WT - and more expensive.
Rock Band has definitely slipped off my "must buy" list - to my "maybe, if GH4 is still a while away" list. They'll need to do a lot of work to win back some Australian market loving - but we're so small compared to the "big" countries - I seriously doubt they'll bother.
The drums. Please god let them fix the goddamn drums.
(Of course, I want the drum set to be a Roland TD-12)
Edit: I'd also like a little more weight to the guitar, and a better trigger mech.
TD 12 is a module. I used to play on a TD6 module on a set of V drums, The basic black pads are all you need unless your going to go all out and get the mesh type.
The drums need to be sturdier for sure, i have to keep on reminding myself to calm down before i break something. They need to get with roland and make the game and roland drums compatible. Just map your pads to the colors, that would make the game serious business.

Yes, exactly. I'll go ahead and blame the error on 4:30 in the morning.
Who cares about rock band 2? I'm still waiting for rock band 1 (granted, i could buy the 360 version, but i'm not going to spend 380 $ on a game for a launch xbox 360)
