I'm disappointed in myself for missing a cipher. Now it's on us to get the remaining series.

I sent Robert a couple emails...the first was simply to provoke him, the second flat-out told him what site I came from and requested any and all information he'd be willing to dole out.

As a side note, I had a wonderfully creepy thought...

What if this Robert character isn't even a high school student?

I just got an email from Robert. I asked what Steven did to provoke an attack, and if his Mom pressed charges.

Quote:
HOW DO ANY OF THOSE ALPHA MALES MESS WITH ANYONE WHO HAPPENS TO HAVE LESS MUSCLE MASS THAN THEY?

HIS MOMMY'S DECISIONS ARE IRRELEVANT. MY TASK WILL BE COMPLETE BEFORE THEY CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING.

YOU MAY HAVE MEMORY BUT THE TIME IS CONSTANT.
I think he's fucking with me, but it's worth a post, anyway. "YOU MAY HAVE MEMORY BUT THE TIME IS CONSTANT." Has been showing up quite a bit.

I also got an email from Robert.
I told him we know it's a cipher and flat-out asked him for information.

Quote:
IT'S GOING TO TAKE A 4TH AND 5TH VENUE FOR THOSE ANSWERS TO MANIFEST, PAL. YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST SEND ME SOME FRIENDLY FUCKING EMAIL AND CRACK THIS WIDE OPEN?

YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS SEEM TO BE DOING WELL ON THE 3RD SERIES. DON'T GET TOO EXITED, LITTLE WORM. YOU MAY HAVE PART OF MEMORY AND THE REST IN THE ETHER, BUT THE TIME IS CONSTANT.
He's also fucking with me, but "You may have part of memory and the rest in the ether, but the time is constant" sticks out a tad.

The only way I can see that making sense is if he was a teacher. Since at one point he's "in third period". Any point where he's "sitting there thinking" could be like.. the students taking a test. But then there's still some holes in that theory. I'm not against the theory of these being notes written in high school and saved till now when he is x years past it, though.

EDIT: Does it seem like he's getting sloppier and less grammatically correct as time goes on?

Well, it seems to me that we've got all the information we're going to get. We're the third venue, and he doesn't want to tell us anything else.

We need to get other forums on this. I'll see what I can do.

I went to the trouble of registering at the Mad Minute Games forum in an attempt to get them to actually latch on.
The thread is here.

Given the song references, to Mellon Collie, which came out in 1995, and to Mary's older brother listening to Violent Femmes from 1984, I think Robert was probably in high school in the mid to late 1990s. Here's a probably unrelated monologue from the Smashing Pumpkins:
Quote:
So it's all very obtuse, because it's all, like, I don't know. So, like, I started thinking that everything I operate on is based on what I believe God was telling me to do. God could be my intuition or whatever, but I always assume, I always assume that the voice I hear is the voice of God. Then I started thinking, what if I'm insane? So I'm operating on the premise that I'm hearing the voice of God or what I perceive to be God speaking to me or through me, but maybe I'm completely in...so all my...demagoguery in my life about me thinking that my life has importance, my, my...thinking that my life has importance. My--my--my thought of it and the fact that I believe I'm following my intuition which in and of itself may be completely false. So then I started freaking out, thinking--of itself may be completely false. And again this creature that believes he's acting upon heavenly intuition but meanwhile he's totally rampant. And I started thinking maybe this is the cause of all the negativity against--and I started thinking maybe this is the cause of all the negativity against--and I started thinking maybe this is the cause of all the negativity against...

I really like that idea. You should shoot Robert an email and ask him about it.

This has been driving me a bit crazy for the last 10 minutes or so:

Does anyone else think those look like scribbled out letters? I've been trying to alter the image to make it clearer, but I still haven't been able to make out anything legible.

I'm beginning to think I'm just imagining things. It's just when he says we have part of the memory, and the rest is in the ether, it makes me think that the rest is hidden somewhere, especially considering his reluctance to hand it out like the previous ones.

I think "Time is constant" just means "you can get in at a certain time and not before because that's what I'll give you the full cypher." As in "stop trying to guess the freaking pass and breaking my site."

Random thoughts: Cecilla means blinded or something similar. The name presumably has significance, though it might just be a play on the word blind as referring to a decoy. Valdemar (related to Vladamir) means renowned person or prince. I'm starting to wonder if there's a Christ/Antichrist theme that I'm missing. The name Mary and emphasis on virginity seems to indicate something like this. Robert also means renowned one, so there's obviously some purpose there.

I often think about these ARG's and wonder when one will be used in an actual crime, like this is just the Se7en for the web generation.

Still, the whole ARG concept is very intriguing. Hard to not get all giddy when the pieces are being put together.

I was thinking that exact same thing. It is just really hard to make out what is written there.

I just watched Otis. That makes the idea even creepier.

*Edit*
Also...
When ARG's start, there's always a small part of me concerned that some real shit is happening, and I'm instigating a psycho.

No reply from Robert. Meanwhile, someone at SA mapped out the locations the bands mentioned so far hail from. I'm not sure it's meaningful or what it could mean, but there was a diamond drawn on the first note.
