European PS3 Sales Overtake 360 Sales

Eurogamer reports that Sony SCEE boss David Reeves has announced that the total amount of Playstation 3's sold in Europe has overtaken the total amount of 360s sold in Europe.

Referring to Xbox 360, Reeves said Sony's machine has been outselling its closest competitor since October 2007, despite the latest price cut. He offered no comment on sales of the Wii.

So...is this the great comeback that's been foretold, or is it just the "Sonyland" effect?

Who cares? we have great sony games coming out and great 360 games coming out. It doesn't really matter.

Lets not forget that europe has never had the real PS3 , they have had the reject versions.

Last time I checked, they could all play PS3 games and Blu-Ray movies... and still offer better BC than the 360 and have wireless built in.

Pity about those "vibrating" controllers and the BlueTooth headset for online gaming or the super high ripoff price compared to the rest of the galaxy.

A lot of Europeans have been suckered into buying it for Bluray by a lot of shops sales people. They probably have higher profit margins on PS3s.

You've got to wonder if the fact that the console is completely region free (for games at least) had anything to do with Europe taking to it so quick.
