Very cool, but I'd trade all of them for a simple Crackdown like co-op experience.

If these are good I think GTA has trumped Saint's Row here....we won't have a cool gang like we did then but it should be better.

16 player free roam isn't good enough?

Could this "Free Roam" be more or less the GTA multiplayer we've all been dreaming of?
They need to just break down and make a GTA game co-op, even if it's just local.
And I'm talking start to finish "in story mode" co-op.

Didn't Take 2 say that many of the games features are shaping up better on PS3 in their recent conference call?

You know, I can imagine what all of them are except for Deal Breaker and Hangman's Noose.

What I want to know if just how much of this can be played locally. I don't pay for Xbox live as i would hardly use it, so I'm hoping at the very least free roam can be played splitscreen. Hell, going on two player crime sprees in San Andreas is STILL a regular thing with my friends, on the original xbox no less. I'm sure I'll buy the game regardless, it'd just seem like a waste to add all this multiplayer without doing something for the splitscreen crowd.

This has just gone from "buy at a budget price" to buy at launch. 16 player, free roaming multiplayer is fucking awesome.

I can't even imagine how much of a clusterfuck Xbox Live is going to be when this comes out. Microsoft better start adding capacity NOW.

From the article:

One mode, Hangman's Noose, is based on a mission from the single-player campaign which has you protecting Mafia man Kenny Petrovic with up to four team mates. Very quickly you're ambushed by SWAT teams and have to fight and protect your way across the city.

Sounds like an escort mission to me.

I think the only thing they've said between the two versions is that the PS3 version looks slightly better, but both run at the same clip and everything.

Yes, they said the Hot Coffee mod is a lot better on the PS3 version.

"Thanks to the brute number crunching power of the cell, and the motion sensing abilities of the SIXAXIS the PS3 version [of GTA IV] will bring a new level to virtual sex that wasn't possible before."

Yeah, I thought there might be more at the link...still didn't describe deal breaker. I can see free roam and GTA Race being the most popular though.

Anyone up for GTA Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays? I am, for sure.

This is going to be amazing. I knew Rockstar had something special planned.

Let's just hope that it doesn't suffer from lag or networking issues, yeah?

Maxconsole has a scan of the magazine article up. You can find it here, but be warned it's in Spanish.

My thoughts exactly. I'll be pre-ordering this next time I'm near my local B&M store.

I hate to even ask, lest it lead to more flames, but...

This multiplayer, it's free on PS3, but requires Live Gold on 360, right?
