Those are some pretty huge price drops, well done MS. This is what I think a lot of people have been waiting for. It'll be interesting to see what Ninty and Sony do to counter.

Oh and they also need to do this worldwide.
This basically brings UK XBox prices into parity with American prices - previously they were selling for about double the price.
UK taxes nearly always include sales tax already, so direct comparisons are difficult, but even so, there were massive differences. Someone was making a huge buck.

The 360 needs a price cut across all regions. Drop the price everywhere and even it up worldwide with the value of the US dollar so it's cheap everywhere. then get that Blu-ray out there at a good price, dump the Arcade and get an entire new staff for 1-800-4MY-XBOX.
Perhaps Amazon changed its prices early, and MS got angry with them for "breaking" the news early?
Amazon is not alone though. In Sweden, one retailer has now lowered the price on the HDMI Premium with about 21 %, but it won't be in effect until the 14th.
This is why I'm happy there's competition. Sony and MS would never drop their prices as quickly or as often if there wasn't competition. Nintendo is on top (sort of) and they haven't dropped their price at all.
