It's been known for a while that Motorstorm 2 is in the works, but now we have some actual details on the game. From, of all places, the BBC:
Quote:
Motorstorm 2 is due out in time for Christmas and moves the action away from the desert locale of the original. Gamers will be able to race around a lush island environment, full of interactive vegetation.
The game will feature four-player split-screen action, righting one of the obvious failings of the first game.
The title is some months away from completion but the game's engine looked rock solid and the graphics were as impressive as one would expect from one of the best-looking racing franchises.
I still haven't played the first game yet, though the demo felt very good. I should probably get on that sometime.
I didn't really love the demo that much. I spent too much time flying out of control due to some evil level design. The graphics were also not that impressive and the load times for changing a paintjob were stupidly long.

I hated the loading for vehicle chaning, but thoguht the graphics looked pretty damn good for the time and the control felt good once you got used to it. The game sold me on the fact that tilt control could work for a racer.

The opponents cheat like a bitch and it seems that when you hit the turbo all the cars hit turbo with you. My boys have fun blowing the engine on the vehicles and watching them explode.

They actually patched that vehicle loading problem, so now you get a list of cars on the screen.
The development support on MotorStorm has been nothing short of phenomenal. Plenty of awesome patches and content. It's loads of fun to play online.

They patched it? How do I access these patches? Is it in game or do I have to do something else? It's a fun game, so improving loading times on the cars would be great.

Load up the game and hit the Online menu item. It will automatically download and apply the latest patch. It takes quite a while to do as well so be ready for that.

Umm, I did this and supposedly have the latest patch (I can join online games too), but the cars still take FOREVER to load, including the paint jobs. So how exactly was it patched? It wasn't!
