Rock Band DLC for the Week of Jan. 15 '08

Thanks to Harmonix's Community Manager "hmxsean," Rock Band followers once again get to know what tracks will be available to purchase over Xbox Live come Tuesday and/or the PSN on Thursday.

From the Official Message Boards:

Quite the mixed bag this week. The Sweet's song count in RB moves up to two this week (They later changed their name to just "Sweet" if you're wondering), and a cover of The Monkees gives players the chance to add another song to that barren 60's collection which previously only included the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" from the disc.

Whether you like Blink 182 or not, their songs are tough to play on the drums. Their not very technical most of the times (not like Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater), but Travis is wicked fast. Good luck to whoever tries to play that.

I like the song all the small things a good bit. Blink 182's alright in my book, although not really for me overall, I dig some of their songs enough not to change the channel.

No reason to hate on the older Blink 182 stuff.

Now, I'm an addict in a major way to Rock Band DLC, so after watching some youtubes of these songs I'll probably download at least a couple, but still, I don't know if any other week has been this meh for me. I suppose I can take some consolation in the idea that if this week is designed to hit a demographic I'm not in that perhaps next week they'll swing back around to giving me more of my favorites.

I'll probably download the Monkees song just because it's different than what we've been getting so far. It'll but fun to play, just gotta tighten up that strap and hold that guitar up above your waist.

Yeah, first reaction was "The Monkees? wtf?".
Then I thought about it and figured, "ya know, that actually sounds pretty fun."

Not to mention it's cheaper than the coffee I just bought - and one of these purchases will provide more enjoyment in the long run.

All the Small Things is a great song for this game. The drum section is tough, but the vocals and guitar have a nice beat that will make them enjoyable for the group.

Pantera. Explain to me why I can't shred like Dimebag, wail like Anselmo, hammer the skins like Vinny, and keep the bass pumping like Rex?

Protip:THERE IS NO RATIONAL EXPLANATION!

Wow, the Monkees are something that I never thought we come to Rock Band. I'll have to get that. I hope they do more old songs like that.

I'll probably pick up Blink-182 also; although, I wish out of all of their 'famous' songs they would have done "Dammit" as that's the only one I dig.

Let's get some more modern-style punk in here now like Face to Face, the Descendents, or NOFX.

That's exactly what I was thinking, thank God they let up this week, don't think I could afford more songs anyways.

Any word on how that OXM disc works in reality?
Can we load the tracks off the disc and pass 'em around, or... ?

Definitely going to get Last Train to Clarksville.

My basis for getting songs is almost always whether they'll be fun to sing or not, and this one definitely fits the bill.
