Resistance 2 Revealed

In the new issue of Game Informer (as transcribed by NeoGAF member Wollan) we get our first look at Resistance 2. And it looks like a doozy. Among the features mentioned:

• 8 player, story-driven online co-op
• Single player campaign is different from co-op campaign
• 60 player online PvP
• Classes for online: Heavy, Special Ops, Medic
• More vehicles, including The Chameleon, a Stalker with full cloak
• Fall 2008 release

If I don't have one by then (unlikely) I'll be picking up a PS3 when this launches. 8 player co-op sounds awesome.

I have to wonder, since it's separate from the SP campaign, if it won't be just a one map, 8 player online game against bots wrapped in a light story. It sounds like it might be like playing their version of Sven Co-op and hey...nothing at all wrong with that.
