Wired.com has extracted the key points from the massive thread over at the official WoW forums:

I almost guarantee it's not Diablo. The one thing I remember about Blizzard was how the company artists are like a family, a family who get reeeaaal tired of doing whatever project they're doing very long. Warcraft is close enough to Diablo that there is no way the artists would want to do it.
Starcraft, on the other hand, is already in production as Starcraft II - so a MOG is a no-brainer resource-wise.
I seem to recall arguing with someone once about a Starcraft MMO being a great idea, only to have him claim that what made WoW so great was the backstory provided by Warcraft 3 and it's expansion.
Well, I'd say that with Starcraft 2 on the way they just might have enough backstory to convince even him!
Actually a new IP would be a bit of fun. A fresh slate for them to start on. A brand new story.
Blizzard: In the beginning, there was light...
Forum poster: OMG BLIZZ RETCON LORELOL DIAF.
etc.

Yeah, this would make some sense. Use Starcraft 2 to establish the world for the MMO. I wouldn't be surprised though if this is the last we hear from Blizz on the matter for a while.
Real.Time.Combat.Starcraft.MMO.Plz. With some real PvP persistence where its a galaxy at war and its an actual tug of war not shitty static fetch quests..
I'd assume thats too close to WoW. Maybe...Blackthorne? How bout a Rock'n'Roll Racing MMO!?!?
Man I used to love rock and roll racing so much before I knew who blizzard was. What a great game. Honestly, they should bring it back as a burnout meets mario kart sort of game.
