Turn your World of Warcraft character into a real-life miniature!
Gimmicky game character statues come and go, but this offering definitely has an air of coolness to it. For $100, this Blizzard-licensed company will use a capture of your character, in whatever gear you want, to craft a 3D miniature figurine.
Select your character:
Tell us your character name and realm and we will take a snapshot of your character as he/she is today.
Outfit your gear:
We give you the option of outfitting any of the gear that you currently possess for that character. Pick and choose the gear that shows them at their most epic!
Order your figure:
Then let us create your fully customized WoW character using our 3D modeling and next-gen fabrication techniques.
I quit WOW ages ago, but I have to admit, between the recent ad campaign and this little innovation, they've not been resting on their laurels...
When I played, I used to go through gear all the time. I guess it settles down once you get to high level? Either way, yeah I am sure there are plenty of WoW nerds out there who want a sexy bust of their female Night Elves.

I've been asking for this since the early days of UO. All MMOs should have this. I've heard that Spore might be getting something like this as well, and that'd be even better.
EDIT: BTW, aren't there machines out there now that can take a 3D model and carve/paint it into a solid figure?

That is an unbelievably great idea. Literally another wow about WoW.
Some day I have to try WoW. Thing is, I like being married...
See, that's the issue I have of it as well. Not so much the being married thing (since I'm not), but the whole going outside part of it. I know if I started playing I'd get horribly addicted to it, and I don't want that.
I actually just regret it being $100. This would make an awesome present for my roommate, who plays about 6 or 7 hours a day almost religiously. Also, his Undead Shadow Priest would look cool as a mini.

Yes. Rapid 3d prototype machines.
Sorta like a 3d printer, placing drops of plastic or wax layer by layer, building the object. Expensive, but nice result. http://www.zcorp.com/Products/3D-Pri...lus/spage.aspx
Haven't seen one in action yet, but the finished products are pretty tuff, but still too expensive for miniature gaming.
I guess the point of this is to have a full guild, or a favorite character in your Warhammer army.

That sounds very cool to said the least but it would be good to see an example of a figurine because if they really want to make this worth they have to do their best imo.

I let my subscription end many months ago, but damn...this is a nice idea. As 51|RandoM said, they could make a fortune here.

Its possible to get life size wow characters created. I was in a shop in Singapore that had one, it was pretty sweet (Orc Shaman), stood about 6 feet tall! I believe the guy that had it made was selling it... for about $5000 SGD (3.5k USD maybe? maybe more with the way the USD is falling).

Heh, well it is possible to get anything made, if you can find the person to do it. The big deal in this case is that it is officially licensed, and simplified.

This is shiny. I just heard about this in the announcement about the Dell WOW laptop but it's pretty cool.
I stopped playing WoW in September or so but only because of the sheer volume of other games I've got on the go. I love my little Gnome though... $100 isn't too bad for something like this.

This has got to be one of the (if not the) coolest things to ever be done. If the pieces are of quality, this can only be great. I never thought I'd spend 100 bucks on a toy (even though I have spent thousands and thousands on computers, games and consoles), but this might seriously be worth it. This is so cool!
Balls. I don't have the kind of money to drop on a figurine of myself. But it would come in handy when discussing what Rollingbeard is up to and I can whip out my Hunter (anyone? anyone?.... moving on) to use as a reference.
