I just spoke to a contact at my local Target store, who informed me of an interesting internal memo. Apparently all Target stores are to stop selling Manhunt 2, going so far as to tell managers to refuse shipments of the title for all systems, with Take 2 agreeing to take back all unopened copies of the game.
Why is this action being taken? The extreme violence in the game is the given reason, but my contact (an employee but not a manager) was told that it was due in greater part to the unfavorable coverage the game got in the national press the last several days. Target stores had been selling the game since it's launch, but it was only today that they were told to pull the product and refuse further shipments.
The listing for Manhunt 2 on the Target website shows that the item is "not available in stores."
I've spoken to employees of several other large retailers (Best Buy, Gamestop and Circuit City) and none of them are, at this time, taking similar actions.
So, they're pulling all their violent movies too, right? Right?
Nope. All the Saw movies will remain, as will the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

As much as I disagree with the reasoning against this kind of censorship (and bias against vg over movies), I can't help but think the worlds a better place without games like MH2.
I love Calvin and Hobbes btw. they should make a game like My Perfect Holiday with those 2.

I'm with the crowd that understands it's not accessible by normal means, so in reality, it's not really in the game. It's only part of the source material.
If you want to condemn a game for "possible" content, look no farther than Tomb Raider's nude patch.

Its cool, I dont go to Target anyway, except recently somebody told me that they had DC licensed t-shirts on the cheap, so I went and got a pretty cool Batman shirt, and some stylish pirate-esque shirts. Other than that though, Target is about as significant to me as Bath and Bodyworks or some girly shit like that.

with a modded psp u could uncensored it and if you have action replay for the ps2 u could uncensored it too with a code. i hope this game sell really well so games studio will see and make more ao games for adult.
