Who needs a official community discussion area where people can go to laboriously heap praise upon your products and services? Evidently, not Nintendo. They've done away with their forums while they work on an overhaul of the official Nintendo.com site, and there appears to be no guarantee they will return. But don't worry, Nintendo's got you covered:
Quote:
For more than four years, these NSider Forums have fostered engaging, robust debates, a strong community and friendships. While their future remains uncertain, in the interim we invite our fans to build on the spirit of community by starting their own Nintendo discussion sites.
Aren't there already enough half-baked Nintendo fan sites out there as it is?
That makes no sense. Why would the almost intentionally splinter the online community like that? Is it really that hard for them to maintain their forums?

The word filter prefers sex with male word filters? That's interesting...
Meh, I've never felt Nintendo had the greatest community as a whole. Certain games definitely stood out, but in general the huge Nintendo fans were always annoying to me.

Well thank god there aren't any of those Nintendo fans here...
As long as Gamefaqs doesn't shut down, with only a message saying to migrate to Evil Avatar, I'm good.
*shudder*
Just imagine. First the Nintendo forums go down, then they all flood to GameFAQs... Then GameFAQs goes down. And the only place left to go is everywhere else.
When the asstard apacolypse rains down, I'd be perfectly happy to keep myself an orange if it's the only way to post. Needing to pay tends to deter the hellspawn.
Let us have a moment of silence for the Nintendo forums, and I ask that everyone pray diligently for the forums that will become the eventual new home of these errant vagabonds.
Maybe they're working on new forums. They did say they were serious about online. For all we know they could be implementing a friend code system into their website.
