The highly anticipated PSP debut of the God of War series, subtitles Chains of Olympus, has been officially delayed until March 2008, according to Gamespot. No reason for the delay was given.
A UMD demo of the game, featuring one playable level, is still set to be released later this month.
The Greatest Holiday Season Ever is getting less and less impressive every day now.
That is disappionting, but it's been off of most holiday release lists for a while now, so it's not surprising. This is one more game that can sap my wallet dry this Spring.

They way they've been hyping and making us wait for the DEMO makes this not much of a surprise. I don't remember ever having to sign up to get a demo something like two (or more) months in advance.
Hopefully missing the Christmas season won't hurt them too much. I'll still be looking forward to it.
Well, as much as a would have loved to play God of War 1 with worse graphics, control, but a few new levels and story, I'll live somehow with this delay.
it irks me that months ago I submitted a news post with information on how to get the demo sent directly to the home of whoever signed up for it and the story not only wasn't posted, it didn't even show up in the forums.
woot that means I should have the demo sometime next month.. yay... i was actually able to get in on that =)
I still don't understand why they made it such a process to get the demo. I got the Jeanne d'Arc demo from Gamestop when I preordered the game. I got a Daxter demo just for revealing I had a PSP. I've gotten plenty of PS2 demos either for preordering of just 'cause. Why make it difficult to get the demo for what very well could be a system seller?
This gives me the time I need to stash away neccessary funds for a PSP and a couple of games. God of War sells me a PSP, and it will eventually sell me a PS3 as well.
Everyone will have it soon , as soon as the umd ships it will be dumped on the net...
Oh come on, I seriously doubt that even half of PSP owners have hacked systems, much less regularly download games off the internet. And something like God of War will still sell well, regardless of the few bad apples.

I think he meant the demo.

Even still, it's a UMD demo, so I doubt you could dump it and play it on an ordinary system. I mean, I have several LocoRoco downloadable demos that can be played on a regular system (yay for Halloween and Christmas themed LocoRoco levels!), but that doesn't mean any demo can be played that way.

Yeah, that's a pretty good point. Ah, well, I should have the demo in the mail in a couple of weeks anyway.

I doubt it. I just got Jeanne d'Arc a couple of weeks ago, and I think the included firmware is only at revision 3.30. Maybe 3.40. Both of which are in the clear if you're using some of the new custom firmwares. I don't buy as many games as some, but the firmware included in games tends to be a bit behind Sony's official firmware as well as the custom firmwares. Even if it did require an update, I wouldn't give up my hacked system just to play a demo. I'd wait for a new custom firmware.
Besides, you may have noticed team M-33 has just promised to release custom firmware 3.60 "soon" (for slim, too). They way they've been putting things out recently, I think the odds are good this will hit before the God of War demo. Those Russians have been making some good custom firmwares.
