BioShock Demo!

There's a demo for BioShock on XBL RIGHT NOW!!!!

From Major Nelson:

Quote:
Welcome to Rapture with the official demo to BioShock, the “genetically enhanced” first person shooter. BioShock is a shooter unlike any you’ve ever played, loaded with weapons and tactics never seen. You’ll have an arsenal at your disposal from simple revolvers to rocket launchers and flame throwers, but you’ll also be forced to genetically alter your DNA to create an even more deadly weapon – you. Injectable Plasmids give you ungodly powers: blast electrical currents into water to electrocute multiple enemies, freeze them solid and obliterate them with the swing of a wrench, or create a swarm of attack hornets from your own mutated flesh. BioShock is that rare game in which Brainpower is as valuable as Firepower. You’ll need plenty of both to get out alive.
It'll cost 1.35 GB of your hard drive space.

OMG!! (Runs off to download)

Edit: I stupidly downloaded the trailer first, costing me precious seconds toward playing the demo.

I audibly exclaimed "WHAT" when I read this. I ran to my 360 so fast I burned my feet on the carpet.

Well you can probably let it download while you're gone as slow as things are right now.

I looked at the new trailer over on game trailers and if that down load count is just for the new trailer, it's crazy was showing something like 4+ million downloads. Maybe thats for all the bioshock stuff?

So this is the 'surprise announcement'? A demo? Not online cooperative play a la System Shock 2?

This plumbs the depths of lame.

I'm sitting here downloading at stuck-at-work%. Maybe when I get home in 4 hours everyone else will have it downloaded.

Ah, demo is 45 minutes to an hour of gameplay, near the beginning, but they've changed it around so you won't be playing the same thing when you buy the full game.
