I haven't been getting any work done while I waited for my story to go live so I could post that, dangit.
edit: And pathmaster still beat me! GRRYARRAR!!!!
I wonder why though?(if this is even what you call official) I doubt it was the install base, because if they just port like every multi-platform developer does, then they would be making money either way. What excuse to hear this time.
i'm not sure this is in any way official. Didn't someone mention that it was coming out for the wii as well? maybe the motion controls for both systems are taking longer to program?
No idea.
[edited text: The word "official" is being thrown around a lot lately (Ps3 price cut official! It is an interesting re-defined use of official. I thought official meant that the phrasing came directly from the horse's mouth (Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft) not when it comes from third party groups like managers of stores, lists + extrapolation, forums, etc.
If they dont put a Katamari on Wii, they are retarded. The game is BEGGING for better controls. Trying to use those dual analogs on PS2 was just frustrating.

Famitsu apparently backs the story up, according to Wikipedia and some other places. I'll try to source those.
I honestly wonder about this. I mean, the PS3 isn't doing PS2 levels, but it's still not so badly that a probable hit like a Katamari game wouldn't sell well.
Might it be something to do with a porting issue? Like it would cost too much to make it work on 2 platforms, so they went with the bigger one?

I hate to break this to you, but porting a game isn't just a case of pressing a big red button marked PORT. It costs money and time and if this news is true it obviously wasn't cost effective to bring the game to the PS3. This would be solely because of the install base.
how come posts from this thread are disappearing? First there was a post from a yellow version of Kamalot talking about the PS3 jokingly in all caps, to which I responded, and now both that post and my previous post are just gone.
This is an incredibly speculative news story claiming to be official confirmation. How is this front page worthy? And that linked confirmation to the always inaccurate PS3center.net is 2 months old.
Edited for taste.

They were deleted, by me, because making fake identities for the sole purpose of insulting another poster is against the rules. The other posts that quoted it were deleted for the same reason.

Look, I hate "this is not news" posts as much as the next man, but this really isn't official (as advertised in the thread title) at all. It may well be circumstantial evidence that warrants a news thread, but don't bill it as being official when it's anything but.

Great game... but I see no reason why this should be exclusive. It is not a system seller and it has no special technical requiremenst and it doesn't cost much to develop.
