In an interesting discovery, it has now been discovered that different armor styles are going to be available to customize your multi-player persona.
Quote:
Cobra, Intruder, Ninja and Regulator seem to be new armour types available for Spartan use in multiplayer, with the standard default Mjolnir selectable of course too. What’s interesting is that seperate armour parts are listed for each of these new types also. Helmet, left and ride shoulders, and body are all listed seperately suggesting players will be able to mix and match parts essentially building their own Spartan. This has been semi-hinted at before and Spartans with different coloured shoulder plates and helmets were spotted in the last Bungie released Vidoc.
It doesn’t end with Spartan models types though as similar listings are included for Elite use. Fewer options than the Chief, Elite players are offered the choice of new Predator or Raptor types, or the standard default.
While not as big as new weapons and vehicles types, it's a welcome addition to the game. I enjoy looking at least a bit different than everyone else around me.

One of the things that has always bugged me about Halo2 is the lack of character choices in online multiplayer. While it's not a big deal it still irked me that you only got to choose from 2 characters. Hopefully this will make add some variety to the scenery.
Man, people are really digging into the beta code-wise. I just hope this stuff ends up true, like the online co-op and all that noise, I do not approve of such online hackzo0rs and trickery.
Wow, there sure have been a few big leaks coming out of this Beta!
What with stuff like the "Banshee in Space" video at Game Videos, the 4 player co-op code references, and now custom armor...
Bungie was obviously hoping to keep most of these features under wraps until just before launch, then overwhelm the public with an avalanche of cool stuff that might distract from their somewhat underwhelming graphics engine...
I hope there are still enough surprises in the final game to give them the impact they were going for...
[QUOTE=ÜberJumper]I would just like to say I am NOT finding the graphics in Halo 3 Beta distracting.QUOTE]
Oh I agree, and I'm sure most of us who have actually played the game for more than a few rounds would also feel the same.
The people Bungie needs to distract are the vocal minority that say "meh, looks the same". They need to give those people something to latch onto that really sticks out as "new".
As for the rest of us, I guess we'll just keep enjoying the Beta while it lasts, safe in the knowledge that the finished game will be even better...
very nice. Why are ppl complaining about the graphics ? They have been saying for months that the graphics you see in the beta are not how it will look overall. I'm confident that they will not let us down with the current halo 2 graphics. I'm also very much enjoying the beta. i only play one or two games a day, but its fun.
Hello ZEAL, Whut is up? You were right about the Beta, the character models do look like Halo 2, but HD. I find Vahalla, a very beatiful map though as are parts of Snowbound. I still have hopes of a better looking final product. Gameplay wise is much more Halo CE, and I dig the visual cues you get when you hit another player. Over all I am happy with it, I am mucho curious about the SP game though.
