PS3 GRAW 2 To Feature 14 New Maps, SIXAXIS Controls
Well, PS3 players have had a much longer wait so far for GRAW 2, as it's been out since March for the 360, but it looks like Ubisoft is going to make it worth the wait.
Controller features used for Mitchell & Cross-com control
SP : Drive the supports (drone, M.U.LE) with the SixAxis functionality
SP/MP : Change Mitchell stances with the SixAxis
SP : change the Rules of Engagement with the SixAxis
Consistency increased between SP & MP: Scope, Movement, Aiming…
PS3 specifics adaptation of controls: Menus, Shoot button…
14 additional maps resulting in a total of 32 MP maps!!!
Multiplayer Additional Information
32 new adversarial multiplayer maps up to 16 players, an expanded arsenal of multinational weapons, character customisation options, new optimizing re-spawn system, new female operatives and hundreds of new game mode options are available.
2 new coop modes, “Evasion” and “Exfiltration”, to vary the game experience in multiplayer.
6 missions co-op campaign with a fully immersive experience and storyline. Featuring open-ended play that rewards teamwork as you play with up to sixteen players.
Well, it's another squad-based FPS, but with the dearth of games right now, the PS3 has to take what it can get. That's an impressive list of added features though, this one may be worth it.
GRAW 2 is fun on the 360, but anyone who thinks there's anything truly new about it, either on the 360 or on the PS3, is smoking something...it's all the same damn thing dressed up in different clothes. If you liked GRAW, then "2" is for you! But don't kid yourself that it's somehow "new."

Yes, and a real joy when they cut off server support, as well...

Better to have 1 to 2 years of lag free gaming on a server. I would rather have that instead of a lagfest on GRAW2 on 360 with anything more than 8 players on a friends 360

Perhaps you've forgotten that GRAW 2 was only a year after GRAW. Might want to drop the two, and lower the one a bit as well!
I prefer guaranteed access to online gaming to dedicated servers. I could not care less about dedicated servers. I understand why many do, but I don't.

Well as I said earlier if it's built like Resistance on the PS3 you will have access to online gaming with no problems. It will be guaranteed.
GRAW2 i've heard is like GRAW1. So that means pretty big maps. So you need a decent amount of players to populate the maps. Because of that you need a pretty big upload speed on your link. In the UK upload speeds are pretty shitty. So you really are pushing it with anymore than 8 players. Unless you are lucky.
I really noticed the difference when playing on a server with a lot of players compared to a 360 with a lot of players
2 ways developers can combat this...
1) Create some medium to small maps for their games.
2) If over a certain player amount the session connects to a server.
If the PS3 community is anything like the migratory 360 crowd, it's more like a month or even less depending on time of year.
Hey look! A new shiny thing! Let's play it!
True enough. I never quite understood that whole mentality that somehow, the $60 disk on sale today is worth $55 more than the $5 disk from less than two years ago that I can get used....or buy new for $10-20.
Good games remain good games. Yes, they do show their age eventually, but perhaps that's another way of finding out which games ARE really good...which ones are still discussed, loved and played by fans.
I still enjoy Crimson Skies on occasion. It's a good game, still, as are some other oldies I own.

Thankfully, the game has not been released on the PC yet - the upcoming sequel to MP-disasters such as R6V and GRAW1 will hit store shelves around June - and from the mouth of a dedicated PC gamer - remain there 'til eternity.

Oh, it hasn't? Crap, my mistake, I could have sworn that I saw the PC logo in the ads. I'll edit the newspost. Thanks for the heads up there.
