After the outcry from the WCG announcement, C&C3 Community Manager Apoc went ahead and released the Patch 1.05 notes to settle everyone down. Here are a few of the important changes:
Quote:
· Fixed an exploit in which players could use GDI Engineers,
Nod Saboteurs, or Scrin Assimilators to capture enemy structures
without moving the units over to those structures.
· Rifleman Squad: Speed increased by 20%. Attack power increased
by 50%. Dig In ability cost reduced to 100, build time reduced
to 5, Foxhole capacity increased to two units.
· Mammoth Tank: Speed reduced by 7%. Attack power of rockets
reduced by 25%. Rate of fire with Railguns upgrade reduced by 35%.
Attack power with Railguns upgrade increased by 35%.
· Orca: Health increased by 50%.
· Railguns: Upgrade cost increased by 66% to 5000.
· Avatar: Cost/buildtime reduced by 27% to 2200/22. Flamethrower
upgrade attack power increased by 150%.
· In team-based matches, allied players now share Ground
Control, allowing them to build structures in each others'
bases.
These are some HUGE changes. It's what the community has been hoping for. This would mean less tank spamming and actual use of infantry. Though, I am disappointed that the Scrin Harvester no longer spawns Ion Storms when destroyed.
i hoped that they will increase the armor of the stealth tank or they will make the avatar got an anti-air upgrade...
I like they are easy to kill, especially now they have a 25% increase to attack! That makes them even more fun/cool, I think. Same with the vastly improved flame tank and much cheaper Avatar. Nod forces are easy to bring down, but they will scratch you hard before they do, and they are cheaper to field... Stealth tanks are cheaper than predator tanks, and do more damage, for example. And they are stealthed!
Greg was always working on CnC3 after he left, he never went to Blizzard.
Glad to see they have the patch that brings the balance. Might actually play the pc version online instead of just the 360 version. Not that I've played it online either yet, but I'm more inclined to.

Engineer: Speed increased by 20%.
it's too bad that engineers are still gonna be too damn slow for any engineer rushes (good thing about the rush, bad thing about not being fast enough though)

· Added a "Classic Command & Conquer (Left-Click Orders) mouse
interface option, which may be selected in the General tab of
the Settings menu.
SWEET!
it's also nice that 4 new maps have been added. too bad 360 players are probably gonna have to pay for the maps...
Seems to me like they've nuked the utility of any support powers other than using them for fun in the end-game of a match that probably could have ended much sooner.
This is awesome. I'm getting dizzy looking at the Looooooooooooong patch notes, but it is great they are putting these changes in. I am tired of having to pump out tanks the fastest or I lose.

It was never about that. Back in the day people would just turtle and use the Ion Cannon. "I built a bunch of defense towers, and waited it out, I win." If that is what you prefer, go to Age of Empires 2. C and C is about fast attack, go go go go go(For you Rogue). But it has made the Mothership a haymaker. My Signal Transmitter strategy will finally be more than a minor annoyance.
