Just got word from Microsoft that Halo 2 for Windows Vista has been delayed. While no official date was given, it looks to be a relatively short delay. According to Gamestop it looks like it was pushed back about 2 weeks until May 22nd from May 8th.
Be sure to check out our review of H2 Vista if interested.

I'm not looking forward to this title, for two reasons:
1. Fuck Vista.
2. The first Halo on the PC was a straight up port of the original Xbox title, the controls were equally gushy. Soft overexagorated jumps, poorly calibrated aiming and movement sensitivity, and the awkward delay when switching weapons made this feel unresponsive at times.
I have every bit of faith that this title will also reveal itself for what it is - a console game in a PC games clothes. Under the hood though it's still a console game, and defies the very nature of PC gaming because of that.
I just bought Halo 2 on Xbox, so I'm not to excited for the PC port. Especially about it being Vista only. There's no way I'm installing that POS again.

Keh, I really never been a fan of Halo, I did play the first Halo in the Xbox and PC but that game don't "suit" me for some reason.
Anyway I don't mind giving a try to this Halo so I'm looking forward to a demo release.

I get the feeling the only people playing this will be reviewers and dumb Wal-Mart idiots (who made Deer Hunter famous) who don't know any different
This is about as ignorant as KingGorillas statement in regards to BluRay/HDDVD.
I have Vista for work...I don't have an XBox and I hate playing FPS with a controller. Why would I be an idiot for playing a game I've never played before on a system I actually own with the input devices I prefer.
And you have balls to call the wal-mart consumers idiots

Because it's a lame-ass poorly done port with a control scheme it's not made for. The Halo games are MADE for the X-box controller, not a keyboard and mouse. It killed the last Halo port.

Having worked at one, they are. As are many of the employees.
I had a kid call me, in hardware, at 2am once asking why he couldn't rip a movie to DVD, when everything else worked. First I told him we don't deal with that, buy the movie. He pestered me so I told him he probably was trying to rip a dvd9 and might want to consider dual-layer discs. This upset him greatly.

Yes, I have the balls because I am qualified to say it (See Rirath's statement. It was five years before I saw the light.). It's not as ignorant as you think. The average Wal-Mart consumer...uh, I'm not even going to take the time on a Saturday. Idiot may have been too strong of a work. Clearly you are offended. I apologize for that.
If you want to play games at work, that's fine by me. I have Vista there as well.
It's my opinion. I don't think it'll sell well other than those who have not played it (see my previous comment), the uneducated masses, and keyboard fanboys.
BTW, for anyone else. I think it actually might be cheaper to buy a 360 and Halo 2 than it would be to buy Vista Upgrade and Halo 2 (plus all the hardware upgrades most people have to make). I haven't really done the math, but it might be close.

If someone already owns Vista and has never played this game its pretty silly to say its bad decision. You can even plug into Vista an XBox 360 controller which I do all the time for XNA developement. With the PC version I can play at 2560x1600 instead of 480p and take advantage of improved shaders, etc.
If you dont own Vista than this isn't a good choice for you...but there really isnt a good argument against current Vista owners from picking this up if they havent played the original.
