Obscure II (PC, PS2, Wii) takes place two years after the gruesome events of the first game. The survivors have gone on to college and try to return to their normal lives. After the discovery of a beautiful but strange plant on school campus, events take a turn for the worse. Soon, the college students have to battle for survival once again.
Players of Obscure II can choose their character and one AI controlled sidekick. In total there are six playable characters, each with their own unique abilities. These can be switched at various points in the game. Due to the game’s unique co-op feature, friends can join at any time to team up and attempt surviving Obscure II together. There are many available weapons to keep the monsters that hunt you at bay. Light might be the players’ biggest ally because you never know what’s lurking in the shadows.

Maybe this time they won't have the distorted control scheme as the first. ie. your directional controls are determined by the facing of the character.
Is it just me, or is the fact that the PS2 is still a hot item really helping the Wii get some games? And what might happen when the PS2 isn't so hot anymore? Like if people actually flock to buy millions of PS3s and Sony doesn't need to sell the PS2 anymore.

At that point, more people will have the Wii than will have the Xbox 360 or PS3, so developers will still continue to make Wii games.

Even after the ps2 retires there will still be a huge library of PS2 games that devs can use their 3rd string teams to port to Wii for easy money. PSP library is available for that too.
I think the Wii port stuff is going to die down, it is just a quick measure to get content out for a new platform. The devs/publishers have to be working on new Wii content, it is just a matter of waiting for it to get released.
I think I tried the first Obscure game. I know that I've seen it on the shelves of the local shoppe EVERY TIME I GO IN... For a game with that particular title, it's far too omnipresent to live up to its name.

That is assuming people start making good use of the controls... Which is seeming less and less likely every time I read a preview of new games (The two Resident Evil games). If developers know there is a large install base, and also know that they are incapable of doing something useful with the controls they are more likely to just keep porting.
It also assumes that the Wii manages a good attach rate... Which I'm doubting more every day.

I've read the two hands-on of the two Resident Evil games at Ign and
the control seem to work well. I see hope for good control in the
future Wii games.
Having been someone who owns the first game and is ashamed of it (and has since, literally, thrown it in the trash), I'd say that they're idiots to make a sequel. The game was pure ass.
I own the game too but cannot play it to find out how bad it is as it has starforce protection and that does not work well with Vista. I only paid a fiver for it at Asda though so no great loss.

See I read reviews of RE:UC at Destructoid which said it the controls were garbage and I think that K*taku may have said similar things about the controls of RE4:Wii (because moving the reticle doesn't change you POV leading to your avatar blocking your view of where you are shooting). I am slightly more inclined to trust bloggers who aren't quite as "dependent" on major game companies as the big publishers. If nothing else, it seems like a mixed bag. When the thrust of your console are the controls and the biggest complaints about the games are the controls then something is wrong.

I've not read those preview. I'll take a look.
That's true the many time preview seems positive and when
they review is shown, the game turn to be bad.

Thanks for saving me from getting a copy of the first game.
