PS3 Steals an XBox 360 Exclusive? Bioshocking! *UPDATED*
After a long line of PS3 exclusives jumped ship to the 360 (Devil May Cry 4, Assassin's Creed, Ace Combat) the tables have finally turned. According to The LastBoss, Sony's Three Speech Blog is reporting that Bioshock will be making an appearance on the PS3 alongside the 360 and PC.
Quote:
Another hotly anticipated title from 2K Games (also appearing on Xbox 360) is BioShock. BioShock’s lineage can be traced back to the revered System Shock 2. Essentially an RPG, although it majors on shooting, BioShock will certainly be one of the most visually stunning games ever – it’s set in an abandoned underwater city built by a billionaire in the Art Deco style.
Good to see some games going the other way. It simply doesn't make sense for 3rd parties to only publish for one platform anymore.
Editor's Note: It appears that 2k has responded and said a PS3 version ISN'T coming.

I still know next to nothing about this game. From what little I've heard, it's a first person adventure with some shooting aspects? Damn, I've probably got that completely ass backwards.

I thought this was always known? I always assumed it was a timed exclusive and then Irrational said it is a timed exclusive?
So then the question becomes whether I buy the 360 version and pay money for the add ons, or wait for the PS3 version to have them packed in the "special edition." Still, having options is always a good thing.

Its true, without options life would be boring! I personally am getting the PC version, unless it runs like shit. Then I'll get the 360 version.

Thanks! The game definately looks interesting, though with all that's coming on the PS3 this fall, unless this is coming out around when the 360 version does, I can see it getting a little overlooked. I hope that doesn't happen.

In my opinion, 3rd party exclusives leaving 360 isn't really an issue for the platform. Of the few people I know that have a PS3, they also have a 360, and on all the 3rd party games, they buy the 360 versions for achievements. And since you can play it for 250 bucks less on the 360, people won't be rushing out to pay the extra money for the PS3. Although I listen alot to the hardcore gamers, I am surrounded by mostly casual gamers, and their view on the PS3 is piss poor to say the least. So I would say that the 360 has the better chance of selling a game available on both platforms with price, achievements and XBL.
