Word came down from on high today that due to the uncertain number of per store units that Microsoft will be able to ship, GameStop/EB will not be taking pre-orders on the new model 360.
No word yet on the 179.99 120 HD
My manger told me that the Elite will still be using the 90nm processor, anyone heard diffrently?
That harddrive is a ripoff. MS may be doing great and really cranking out good stuff. But whomever is doing the pricing for the new system and the other hardware, needs to surf the net just once. And he would recoil in terror at what awaits them.

The issue here is we just don't know how many each store will get. so we can't reserve systems if we can't be sure we will get them. otherwise we will have a repeat of the 2005 360 debacle.

There are alot of bad Gamestop employees but if your lucky you'll come across a good one that actually knows what he's doing.....untill he's fired or sent to another store and replaced with some pimply faced kid that thinks Halo 2 was on the GBA.

That's because the bullshit flows downhill at GS. DOn't worry. As soon as they have 10,000 cinfirmed units, I'm sure they'll take reserves for 50,000 or so.
For those interested, you can transfer the content of the 20 to the 120. But only from one HDD. Then the stuff on the 20 is gone. ....not sure if that has been stated yet.

yeah, your the first to mention this. joystiq has some article about the limitations of the transfer.
I know here in winnipeg It's store policy not to take pre-orders on systems becaus eof the huge disaster they had with the 360 launch. They don't take pre-orders or anything on hardware anymore.
