According to a recent post by blog site Nintendo Centrium, the specifications to Nintendo's highly elusive Revolution console have been "leaked" via an inside programmer who is currently under contract with the company. Known only as HereticPB from the post, the blogger describes quite a bit about the machine saying that it will be powered by 2 G5 1.8GHz CPUs and feature a 6GB HD Dual Layer Panasonic disc as the media format, as well as an embedded 16-bit 7.1 digital sound chip.
If Apple -- who's arguably had as much hardware experience as Nintendo -- can't get a single G5 to work properly without overheating into a Powerbook, how does Nintendo manage to be able to squeeze TWO G5's into a console the size of 3 DVD cases?

Look at the power inside that little Cube. Question answered. If anyone can do it, Nintendo can.
I cannot wait to see this system become another N64 and Gamecube. Nintendo systems are nothing but a niche market, now.
Hope this is their last.
What do you stand to gain by Nintendo not making any more systems? It's fine if you don't like their consoles, but why make a wish that they stop making them? I'm serious. Your odd wish perplexes me.
This is fake just like that Revolution controller leaked video and the information on the squeeze controller, and every other spec released on the system. Nothing leaks from Nintendo, ever. Unfortunately all of these fake leaks are just going to get people’s hopes up like the controller video did. I doubt Nintendo will have a multi core proc, there’s just nowhere for the heat to go in their tiny case (though at 1.8Ghz it may not be a problem).
I also don’t expect their dics will be HD for the simple reason that they were the only system at E3 to not announce their support for HDTV. They also have never shown an intrest in the past for wanting to be on the cutting edge of displaying media that isn’t games. None of their other systems have supported CDs or DVDs, so there’s no reason for me to believe that this one will either.

I guess we'll have to look at transcripts again, but I thought Nintendo said they won't be focused on only HD. Unlike Microsoft who, I'm guessing, mandates every 360 game to be HD and 5.1.

Because Nintendo fanboys collectively constitute the worst subsculture in existence; equivalent to freaks who dress up and attend anime conventions. The sooner they're eradicated from the face of the game industry, the sooner the industry can evolve as a serious form of entertainment.
The war now belongs to Microsoft and Sony. Time to put childish things away.

Interesting point. I would have just said that it's because if Nintendo drops making hardware, I have on less console to buy and still have access to their games.
