Nice. I gotta admit, after getting the HD-DVD addon a few weeks ago I'm pretty much sold on A hi-def format. Which one? I don't care so much as long as one gets universally adopted.

Kung Fu Hustle, Memento, Kung Fu Hustle, House of Flying Daggers, Kung Fu Hustle, The Fifth Element, Kung Fu Hustle, Men of Honor, and Kung Fu Hustle.
Men of Honor and Kung Fu Hustle are two I would definitely pick up if I had a ps3. Although I think I'm going to stick to movies that are action or have good cinematography when I'm getting HD-DVD or bluray so Men of Honor isn't exactly the type (I'm picking up Children of Men on the HD-DVD/DVD combo pack when it comes out this month and if I had blu-ray I would pick up Casino Royale for it). I have a 1080p tv so I'm thinking I should be wanting blu-ray but I know I'll be getting a 360 this year and I'm not sure when I'll get a ps3 (the ps2 had the best software lineup of any game console and I didn't pick one up until thanksgiving of last year).
Also, was the second transporter any worse than the first movie? Is that even possible? Did anyone actually watch it? Was it on a bet/dare? Did you swear off doing bets/dares afterwards?
I can't believe someone said Transporter 2. You should be shoot in the face.
Is it really that bad? I had heard some good things about those movies, and they looked interesting. From your comment, though, I'm guessing I was told wrong.

The first one came out shortly after Hitman 2 and it just looked like it was going to have all the coolness of a Hitman game in a movie, and it came out and had very little coolness. As for it not taking itself seriously, that's very true. For the opening scene three bank robbers get in the get-a-way car and he says he only agreed to transport two so he shoots the third. That doesn't even come close to making sense. That's not the worst example from the movie, but honestly all I can really remember about the movie is the beginning since that was pretty much the best action scene from it.
Transporter 2 should not have been made. That said, I want to see Crank which has the same actor and looks like it's as cool as The Transporter should have been.
Gorvi, you'd do fine to see the original Transporter. Go in wanting to see a popcorn flick and you'll be perfectly content.
I heard Crank was somehow as bad, if not worse, than Transporter 2. I cried, seeing as I wanted to see it as well...
Oh, I wasn't expecting anything more than that, but thanks for the warning on 2. I doubt I'll pick these up now though, not they don't sound like they'd be worth the $15.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, anything I'd want (X-Men 3) I already have on DVD and what's left isn't all that compelling. Still, I'm glad to see Blu-Ray discs for reasonable prices. I have yet to buy my first one, but I've rented a couple and it is a nice experience.

I saw The Transporter 2 on HBO a few months ago and thought it was pretty good. Keep in mind it's...The Transporter...but I came out fairly entertained.
And Crank rocked. Period.

Both Kingdom of Heaven and Blackhawk Down are two must have Blu-Ray titles. Kingdom of Heaven is used by many home theater gurus as a reference movie, because it's that good of a transfer. Ice Age also looks stunning in HD.

Well I wish they'd hurry the fuck up and pick one. I have the HD addon as well for the 360, and it's awesome, but it's starting to piss me off that over half the shit I want in an HD format is coming out for Blue-Ray exclusively.

Crank is a series of fight scenes broken up by a cell phone ringing with no real story to speak of, if you can get past that it is some awesome action and one of if not the best looking Blu-Ray movie out. At very least rent it.
