But the biggest news dealt with episodic gaming, since Kim confirmed that Microsoft and Bungie Studios are currently planning two different episodic gaming series for Xbox 360 with Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson, commenting: "Our deal with Peter is not about a film guy who wants to make video games".
He also revealed of the Jackson/Bungie collaboration: "We're in the design phase now", continuing: "The first series will be set in the Halo universe." In addition to this deal, Jackson continues to executive produce the currently on hiatus Halo feature film.
So, Microsoft and Bungie are working on two separate episodic gaming series according to Shane Kim (Microsoft VP Portfolio Manger), one with Wingnut (Peter Jackson's Studio)... interesting.
I still can't wait to see what exactly they're planning. Hell, if it's just great movie sequences ala Metal Gear with minor gameplay elements, I'm up for seeing how that pans out.
I think one is Marathon...Bungie folks have been sick of halo ever since Halo 2. Microsoft better be careful or they are going to lose some of these guys. They want to make a new IP, or at least get the fuck away from Halo.

I think bringning Marathon to a new generation would be cool. I first saw it when they used it RvB for the time travel sequence.
Zeal...is that an opinion...or something a wee bit more? (notice the absense of the pun)
Episodic Halo? Halo has been episodic since the first game...we're NEVER going to go terribly long without some kind of marketing reminder that the next big Halo <insert product type here> is coming soon.
Man, I am sick of Halo. I have both Halo console games, and logged around 4,000 matches on Live with Halo 2. I love the game, but damn, am I sick of hearing about it.

I unfortunately have to agree here. Microsoft needs to start promoting other talented developers, although we've seen the first of which with Gears of War. I think Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Bioshock, Too Human, and a slew of other highly anticipated titles are slowly changing the hype train, though.
