High on our list is having map entities which are triggered when an area becomes infested or uninfested. For example, you could have a computer console that shuts down when overrun by infestation and causes the lights in the room to go out. If the marines clear out the room and fight back the infestation, the system comes back online and the lights flicker on to fill the room. What about abilities and technology which only function when players are on their home turf?
This is actually a standalone release, like Red Orchestra and The Ship (but not GMod: there's no engine license there). UWE could port it to the 360 if they wanted, but it's probably a bit too complex for consoles.
The ways they are thinking of making dynamic environments are very cool. This should be worth looking for when it hits. Now if only Monolith and Sierra would get off their asses and make me AvP3, complete with Aliens that don't look like stick figures, and I'd be in heaven
The reason NS is so fucking cool is because... it's the closest thing you can get to the actual idea of being a space marine in the movie aliens, it's like... an fps rts with buddies, with one shithead at the helm, 3 shitheads possibly arguing or following orders, 2 gopher/badgers running around a nest spraying feces at everything while 1 or 2 people who blink in and out slash the shit and harass the humes
