Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction and maintenance of space works. Players build space ships and space stations of various sizes and utilization (civil and military), pilot ships and perform asteroid mining. Space Engineers utilizes a realistic volumetric-based physics engine: all objects can be assembled, disassembled, damaged and destroyed.
I love how step 1 in the video is "crash your ship". Granted, it's so they can show that you repair it, but it's amusing.
I'm unclear what exactly this is. Is he following plans? making his own thing? Are the colors significant? Is this pure-sandbox ala-minecraft, where you can make whatever the hell you want, or is it more "build spaceships and crash them into things" which is what the video indicates.
Looks cool. Evokes a Shattered Horizon vibe. Need to re-install that lovely. This looks more peaceful, which I can dig. Minecraft just doesn't appeal to me though I can appreciate what it does. This seems more up my alley.
