Infinity has already claimed over half the retail space of Skylanders at my local Wal-Mart, with a number of Skylanders sets/figures bumped to the cheapie-bin with red tags. Just wait until they get some Marvel and Star Wars content out.

Game over for Skylanders' generic squad of nobodies.

Watching some of that stuff reminds me of some of the truly great controller throwing moments in my past. I could probably never play anything like that stupid Blue Room thing. It's like portal without the fun and against a blue backdrop that keeps you from making out details or being able to utilize depth perception.

Then they have flippy platformers and a whole bunch of other infuriating shit... I think my whole console would go out the window.

But it's nice to see this amount of content coming right out of the gates. it doesn't look as good as I would have thought though; very low poly and craptastic textures. They must have been showing the Wii version or something.

Disney Infinity holds the attention of my 5 year old at least twice as well as Skylanders did. Plus the fun he has doing random stuff in a toy box setting is really a joy to behold. Minecraft meet Skylanders with recognizable characters = brilliant. Yeah, there are rough edges. Yeah, it could look better. But in the end none of that matters much.
