Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Official Reveal Trailer

They're going all-in on the 80s action cheese. Looks like dumb fun.

The perfect bit of mindless 80's retro-future tribute fun. I can't wait to play this legit.

I keep waiting for someone to say how big this game is. I mean is it like a 10 hour DLC/stand alone expansion? Or is it like a whole conversion of Frycry 3, like the whole game re-imagined? Because I so want as much of this that I can get. Frycry 3 looked interesting, this looks AMAZING. Plus the original Terminator killer is now a cyborg terminator killer.... why the hell didn't anyone have this idea YEARS ago? Best real fake out from April 1st ever.

I like how all the kids who were born in the late 90's are reacting to this. They watch the trailer and look up with this expression on their face that seems to be pure concentrated "WTF" and clearly have no idea why I'm excited.

Yeah, 90's kids won't get it. They're such deprived children.

I'm 30. I get it. Just totally unexpected.

Pre-order is up on Steam, clocks in at $15. Pre-order nets a copy of the soundtrack.

SP only, was kinda hoping for some co-op. Should be awesome solo though.

May 1st? They might as well release it this instant, since pirates have already played and beat it.

This is how you do DLC.

Hell this is how you do games. I want this to be a smash so other developers learn from it. That they learn sometimes taking riskings and not giving a fuck is okay. I'm more pumped for this than any game in recent memory.

A) not DLC.

B) This sort of game is great... once in a while. This is the shining gem that breaks up the monotony of regular gaming with something silly and transient. Making it the rule instead of the exception would ruin both its charm and its value. At least, I think so.

Game designers break the mold much more than just about any other industry - including other entertainment media. Games like Minecraft and Portal are huge because they create new, fun gameplay.

This looks like a fun "so bad it's good" take on FPS that definitely represents a fun under-mined genre aimed at aging gamers who have shown they dig nostalgia. So it's a good setting for marketing yet another FPS and it looks like it could be a fun and humorous game - I want to play it. However, an innovative setting isn't going to disrupt the market or create a new genre like League of Legends or Minecraft.

It'd be cool if the VHS effects were part of the post processing. Both just the color saturation and the static/lines.
