Amazing, 30 days before the official U.S release of the game... and the retail copy has been leaked trough every torrent site and newsgroup on the interweb.
Oh, and it has been confirmed, its not a nuke, its a legit copy.
Heads are gonna roll at squenix, i foresee many decapitations.
Wow, it really is there. I wonder what type of copy protection they used. Regardless I'll have to give it a try.
While this is never good, I don't think piracy hurts game companys on consoles as much as it does for PC. It's a bit harder to get a burned game to run on a PS2.
People will still buy the retail version. I know I will. This won't make an impact on sales one bit.

nope. the 98%of console gamers could not get a copy from torrent to console at all.
Im torn between wanting to learn how and my alligance to the brand.
It's not to hard, as long as there's a will (and some money). Ever since I graduated and have a real job I buy all my games now. Though when I was a poor college student, doing so would mean I couldn't play everything I wanted :/. It's one of those silly moral arguements.
Do you have a source? I thought I read this on another site like a week ago and it turned up to be a fake.
Umm... *cough* ... how is it?
Well, unless someone here's already downloaded it, it'll take a bit to download the three gig file and test it's accuracy. If it is fake, there sure are a lot of seeds for it :/.
As to source, when the OP said nearly every torrent site, he wasn't kidding. Just look.
Thought about it, but i don't think should post something related to the game pirating scene on its front page.
Anyways, i might give it a try, considering the game only comes out in Europe on march 2007, just to check out the much talked about combat system.

As to it beeing fake, reading the user comments on some of the torrent sites, seems its the real thing, as allot of people are saying they be having a blast playing it.

*sigh* I need to figure out how to get a VPN tunnel to reach my home computer through the corporate firewall (they have RDS turned off as it is). Now I want to try this out, but it's going to be a long wait for it to download.

Playstation Games don't use copy protection. You just have to have a modded PS2.

I couldn't help myself. I've still got my paid-up, limited-edition tin box preorder at Gamespot, but a month early? Couldn't resist.
This is absolutely worth every cent.

Good thinking. We don't want to be encouraging people to go looking for it.

Wow, sorry for the comment. I went and checked it out and boy there are a lot of listings. Most of the highly populated ones say little less than 2 days. So I was thinking of was something else, apologize for that.
I still would love to hear what a EvAv member have to say about it, though technically that's wrong and no EvAv member would do that.
This isn't going to hurt sales one damn bit. Despite what the console kids like to think, console piracy is just as rampant as PC piracy, the only thing seperating the two is that you need to modify your console to play pirated games. This is something the average console owner doesn't even know exists, let alone how to do. Once it's done however, pirating console games is down right stupidly simple, seeing as how all the protection is on the hardware which has just been circumvented via modding.
Even if the game hadn't leaked a month early, it'd still be up for download the day it was released, and the same pirates with modified consoles would be playing it then as opposed to now. They aren't buying it now, they wouldn't be buying it when it actually came out.
That was quick. The curious cat in me wants to get killed here, but the Final Fantasy whore in me tells me to wait on the boxed copy I already have paid off.

I have a modded PS2. I also have burned games that won't work on it due to a copy protection. My mod is old, so when they changed the copy protection a lot of US games stoped working. It'll play every Japanese game with no problems though.

It's still not copy protection. It's a bit of code that checks for hardware mods and then stops the game from loading. That is why you have to change the mod every now and then for newer games. The discs themselves, however, contain no copy protection measures like DVDs.

So. I read this and say "Damn. I know a few pirate folk in the dorms. Let's go ask."
At coming back from said dorms, the comments are: "Much better storyline than before. No angst, and the characters aren't even effeminate or whiny this time around, aside from Van's ugly suit."
Temptation... Grr. Nah. Must wait! Have classwork to do!
