Avalanche Studios CEO Christofer Sundberg released a teaser image on Instagram today, stating "We're making awesome games at #avalanchestudios! This year will be awesome!" Click here to see a bigger version.
The company hasn't announced anything official, but it's almost certain they're developing Just Cause 3. There have also been rumors that they're working on a Mad Max game. If I were to guess I'd say it's the latter, as the guy in the image doesn't appear to have the distinctive arm-mounted grappling hook of Just Cause 2's protagonist.
This studio has moved all development to next gen. They are absolutely one of the top European developers. Just Cause 2 has better graphics and draw distance on consoles than Far Cry 3.
There was some game teased a while back that this reminds me of. It was some sort of slow-mo video or artwork that I vaguely remember but it had this vibe to it. Next gen will apparently be full of even more motion blur.

Just Cuz 2 is one the best-looking games still out, IMO.

Not saying much there buddy. Far Cry 3 on consoles is framerate hell defined. I played JC2 on a ps3 and it looked pretty good actually. I'll give JC3 a chance as it seems Saints Row's is dead and fuck GTA5.

Any civilization that has so far lost its head as to need to include a set of detailed instructions for use in a packet of toothpicks, was no longer a civilization in which I can live and stay sane.
I could never really get in to Just Cause 2 as much as I wanted to. Something about it just never sat well with me. I played around with the MP mod when it was still rough and had a blast with all the glitchy hell that resulted for a little while. Hmm I wonder how that turned out.
