That pic reminds me of playing one of the old mechwarrior games i used to play multiplayer. Discovered you could make a mech based solely around flame and just overheat all your opponents. Took forever to kill a enemy but you could perma disable them which was frustrating for them and super satisfying for you

Flamers are completely useless in mechwarrior online except for overheating yourself. When a dev chimed in once he loves using them there was a collective groan from the forums and he's the butt end of many a "flamer" jokes ever since.

True story here. They generate more heat on you then they do on the enemy, which makes them almost worthless right there. Also, they start generating exponentially more heat (for you, not the enemy) the longer you fire them, in an attempt to prevent you from permanently locking down an enemy (apparently, team work wasn't a good solution here.) Also, supposively they can't actually force an enemy to shut down. They can only raise their heat to max. So unless they fire their guns, they won't shutdown. As an added bonus, since shutdown mechs cannot take overheat damage, even if you could lock someone down, you'd never kill them with just the flamers.
