AC4 better be about travelling back to the days when the "gods" lived on earth alongside humans. As the player, you must assassinate the "gods," one by one, in order to save humanity.

If you're current on the story, then what do you think they will do in the sequel, and do you think they will do something like that?

So AC is about space "gods"? Does the story change tremendously with each title? If so I may never touch the series.

Well, not trying to spoil anything here, but from what I remember the first one didn't mention them, it was in AC2 where they start to get into a pre-human civilization that was here first.

So they're not so much space gods, just advanced people that were here before us. It's cool that they added a sci-fi element to the story, but I don't want to say much else.

The story is always about Desmond, who goes into a machine to relive the memories of his ancient ancestors. The other stuff was always treated as a hinted-at mystery that they didn't get into that much until AC3.

I know the storyline and was surprised with what they did. I have no idea how you can follow up with a sequel, but I'm sure they'll find a way.
