Adhesive Games has released several new videos for its mech combat game, Hawken.
Quote:
HAWKEN's objective-based missile assault mode pits squads against each other in a race to control three missile silos. Once under your control, the silos will launch missiles against the enemy base—but first you have to capture the silos. Sharp tactics and teamwork will trump a fast trigger finger in this fight as the team whose base gets slagged first loses.

The mandatory film grain was annoying. Apparently you can turn it off via the console, no switch for it in options.
The playstyle is pretty good I thought. Fun, fast-paced, feels pretty balanced
Yeah you can turn it off.
Downloading right now hopefully it's enjoyable. I've heard a lot of negative feedback mainly about the map designs and weapon imbalance. Something about the specific classes too but not sure exactly.

I got in a round yesterday and it was pretty fun. Looks good. I like the atmosphere. I definitely ran into a couple of dudes who just massacred everyone else. Their weapons took me out quick as well. So not sure if that was weapons or class or what. But fighting more average guys it was fun.

At the end of the match you get experience and it looked like there were upgrades to buy with.
So, mebbe you were facing experienced guys at some point.
I generally found I could kill anyone with smart tactics and getting the jump on them. Which usually left me damaged enough to get picked off by the next guy to come around, but not always.
