Borderlands 2 Will Have a 58 Hour Campaign

Gearbox's marketing VP Steve Gibson says that Borderlands 2 will have a 58 hour campaign.

Quote:
“What we like to think about it is, Borderlands is a hobby. Some guide guys just did a playthrough of Borderlands 2 and they reported back to us that it takes 58 hours to play through the campaign – and that’s just one playthrough with one character,” Steve revealed to us proudly.

“So the depth with which people can get into that…Yeah we look at it as a hobby, and that isn’t even counting the new Badass Points system and how that’ll affect every character you do. We want it to feel like you get more for your money, we’re happy for people to pay their money once and feel that they get ongoing value.”

Randy Pitchford claimed Duke Nukem Forever would be 20 hours long, so take this with a grain of salt.

They delivered a ridiculous amount of content in the first game, so I have no reason to doubt the second one will be the same. Best DLC ever.

Think my original solo playthrough of Borderlands clocked in around 30 hours? 58 hours would be impressive.

That 'Badass Ranking System' sounds kinda... well, badass. I like that they've come up with a way to reward you across multiple characters.

This probably means that if you do everything you could possibly ever do in the game with on character, then it will take around 60 hours.

Yup. If you are like me, and chase all possible quests/awards/whatever as possible, then most likely yes.

Good, great games need to be longer.

I hate having an epic game and it lasting 8 hours. 58 hours is amazing.

I don't really care if the campaign is 58 hours long if the last 2/3s of the game completely fail to scale to my level from doing all the quests and are is so ridiculously easy that it's not fun to play at all.

Clocked over 100 hours on the 1st including the DLC which was all great except for Moxxi. Too many good games coming out in the very near future

58 hours makes me believe that a speed run would be like 15?
I don't do complete all the achievements so I wonder how long this would take...

I've bought the original in some form or another 3 times now. More awesome in the 2nd can't be wrong.

I just hope its more interesting and less drawn out than the Borderlands 1 campaign. Just finished it last week, and man it was a drag, and the ending sucked. Love the game mechanics and gameplay, but just soooo damn long!

Except that Moxxi was the WORST DLC ever, so it evens out.

I have all the DLC, and made a little progress in all of them, but after finishing the campaign, I got so incredibly burnt out on Borderlands that I don't see myself ever finishing the DLC.

Good thing I'm getting Borderlands 2 free, else I don't think I would have paid for it.

In a single player sense, I didn't like Moxxi. I loved it when I was playing with some friends, though. It's a serious challenge in the later waves. I liked all the DLC for Borderlands, honestly.

My internal clock on Borderlands is all messed up b/c I spent about 10,000 hours running in a circle in New Haven and opening chests (and enjoying it I might add!)
