PC Gamer has a short preview of Battlefield 3's Bandar Desert map, which will be included in the upcoming Armored Kill DLC.

Jøran Holberg takes us through some of the details. There will be 1.9km between deployment zones, 2.4 km between jet spawn points, and the map is 1.9km wide at its broadest point. That’s 800m longer and wider than Caspian Border. Planes will be able to dogfight in the mountainous areas surrounding a huge area that features stretches of open desert for tank battles, and some built up areas for squabbling foot soldiers.
“Playing the first versions of Bandar Desert in our daily play tests was almost like re-discovering the classic Battlefield. Standing in the middle of that desert, looking around at the vast expanse with tanks approaching in the far distance and jets flying overhead was a Battlefield moment on its own,” says Holberg.
Can't wait for this. The different themes of each expansion is a lot of fun and ensures a lot of different types of entertainment in a single game. Luckily I got premium so this is already paid for.
Hopefully this will bring back some former Battlefield players as well. There's a lot of love for the vehicles in this game, so a huge map like this will just be too much fun with the right squad.
You don't even need Origin running to play if you follow this guide after installing the game: http://justpaste.it/Yak
I've been using that tweak for the last few months with no trouble. You'll only need to open Origin to download patches when they're released.
If Battlefield isn't enough for you, then I don't know what to tell you.
Oh Battlefield is good enough for me, but I'm just not sold on being forced to purchase from Origin. My homie's patch above looks promising, however. The only thing is I fear they'll find a way to stop that someday.
