Can we all agree the player in this video is hella bad? He has mech after mech beyond the limits of overheating and then runs away. And Jesus man, USE YOUR JUMP JETS!
When the Atlas gets lit up from all sides and its armor starts glowing--that was awesome.
But what's up with the interior graphics? Flat shaded polygons? And you probably should just stand still while an Atlas is facing you down.
They could be toning down the glitz to appeal to a broader audience of low end rigs. That's a curs several mmo style games suffer from. Being on the PC tho, they should provide the options for users who want to turn things up to 11.

In-fact I'll go into detail (since I'm trying to kill some time) more about the Jenner. That player was using sound tactics. The Jenner is a sniper of sorts, except imagine a shotgun using slug rounds and now you're more in line with how they roll. It's a hit and run Medium grade mech with hard to hit vitals. The giant arms are designed to attract attention, and pack such heavy punches that smart players consider them disposable, (because if they chew through all of that armor on an arm to lop it off, they did you a favor and reduced your heat output by a huge chunk) Think of shedding those arms like a skink sheds its tail when a predator tries to bite it.
The SRM4s are mostly useless and designed to ignite ammo caches once the lasers heat up the bodies. Jump jets are mainly used because the giant arms make the mech alkward in urban enviornments but that guy didn't use them much in the video because they take a lot of heat, and the Jenner can't afford to dish out pain and stay that mobile at the same time. You don't just nip at heels in a jenner, and pack a solid 1, 2 punch if they are stupid enough to ignore you, which is why many experienced pilots prefer how "balanced" the mech is vs all sizes.
It's a great mech for novices and pros, but the nubcakes will overheat them quickly leaving a juicy target. The bane of jenners are LRMs. Because of the mech's low profile, when those missiles hit the splash damage hits every body part and really cripples it unless the pilot can line of sight himself behind something quick.
We should get an EvAv clan going for this, because you sure as hell don't want to be on the opposite team as me.

This looks like an absolute mess. Unless you're lucky enough roll with your own lance and actually can learn to follow orders under a commander who understands the roles of the mechs.
PUGs are going to be painful, plus I'm not sure I buy into their pricing model yet.

I cannot believe no one has pointed out how, for some reason, this is what devs still render cities as. MW4 at least had rows of buildings and streets. When have humans placed structures far apart on such uneven terrain? Give me a city to fight in and destroy!

Actually, right now, you don't want to use Jump Jets. Word is the Jump Jets at the moment are very slow, and simply leave you as a vulnerable target hanging in mid-air. The devs know about the issue and are working on speeding them up to make them actually useful, but that has not yet been patched into the beta.

The video made them look like a very viable target to me. He circles a building looking for prey at least twice, when a virtual leap and quick-release descend would have been much more useful.
