Part of me says "Why a reboot so soon?"... but this trailer makes that question seem silly.

Geez. The movies are going to be like a vaccum cleaner on my wallet this year.

Well-done trailer. And even if the movie doesn't live up to it, there's no way it can be worse than the last Raimi version, right?

This movie hits the Top 10 of Most Unneeded Reboots right up there with the Hulk (2015). Seriously, they are rebooting the Hulk..... again. The Hulk is one of the lamest Marvel characters out there and they just can't stop making movies about this shit.

Now a reboot that looks cool is Total Recall. Can't go wrong with Collin Farrell.

Seriously?

First of all Hulk is awesome. Secondly, Colin Farrell? Really? Name something he was in that was successful where he played the lead role?

Successful? Like the Hulk? He has had some cool roles and I like his acting. Does it matter if he was lead in a major blockbuster? No it doesn't. An actor doesn't have to be lead in a successful film to be a good actor.

Apparently the Spider-Reboot is Sony's complicated way of keeping the movie rights to Spider-Man and not allowing them to revert back to Marvel.

After Spider-Man 3 and the concept they were developing for Spider-Man 4 before Raimi was canned... I'd definitely say you're 100% wrong.

Well, if you are major fan of Spider-man and love the retelling of the same story over and over again you would be right. Raimi's Spider-man films sucked. All of them.

I am sick of reboots and just scratch my head wondering why they don't just make a movie on hundreds of other more interesting IPs that are out there that people are dying to watch.

I know I mentioned that Total Recall reboot looks interesting but I would rather they took the funding from that and made an original film.

Hey! At least we can expect an Iron Man 3 soon! We so need another one. =/

A few clarifications since there is no edit button:

Dying to watch, as in wanting to enjoy a film version of a successful novel franchise for example.

I know Iron Man 3 is not a reboot but I figure they need to quit before it gets worse like the Spider-man films. The first Iron Man was OK at best and the second one was pure garbage. I fear for what the third will bring.

Didn't Marvel get the rights back hence the reboot? I obviously haven't kept up on that aspect.

LOL. Spider-Man 1 and especially 2 were some of the best comic-book adaptations we've seen. I'm curious what about them "sucked" to you.

And after hearing you trash Iron Man 2 I figure you're just trolling.

I don't 'troll'. It is all opinion anyway. I highly enjoy comic book films. I liked the Burton Batmans, The Dark Knight series is pure quality, and I loved Thor. Iron Man 2 I fell asleep. That show was a cheesier story than the first one the way it was executed. Spider-man 2 ... lol! That is by far one the worst sequels I have seen to any franchise. The campyness was over the top and everything else about it was B-movie quality.

Most super hero movies to some extent have some campiness to them, that's just how they are. Have we forgotten how fitting that is to Spidey's world, anyway? The only truly "campy" things were frivolous details that could only possible bother you if you are extremely neurotic. Spidey 2 did almost everything right.

Now I haven't seen the Avengers yet but you think it's better than the Dark Knight? Is this just pure enjoyment or how are you gauging this? I've heard nothing but good things about the Avengers and will be seeing it soon however I just felt that the latest Batman movies were great and in a different sort of level of seriousness

The Avengers is the superior film. It also won't put you to sleep after watching it once. This was TDK's #1 flaw.
