Voice acting is horrendous.. Why didn't they use the HBO cast??
And what part in the books is this trailer based on?? I've only read the first two so far, but I don't recognize any of this.
By the way, I got the hardcovers of the first 4 books as well as the first art book signed by GRRM in 2007. I'm just a VERY SLOW reader.
I imagine cost was the biggest factor and since this is a new story not many of the same characters would make an appearance. The same actor that plays Jeor Mormont, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, did voicework for this. I think that the events of the game run parallel to the first book.
I think more studios need to ask themselves , "yes we can do this but should we do this?"
Game of Thrones is popular because it is a story told by a man who has a vision. Turning it into a game with storytelling from 1 or more different people results in fundamentally changing what it is that about the series that makes it a bestseller.
It's like saying I really love eating Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream, so I want there to be a game about Ben & Jerrys ice cream.
The story of A Game of Thrones takes place during the first book of the saga, at the time when Jon Arryn, the Hand of King Robert Baratheon, is found dead at King's Landing. The game allows players to follow two epic quests: Mors and Alester's quests. Their totally original story was canonized by George R.R. Martin himself and perfectly integrates the original story the fans are so familiar with in the series. All throughout the game, the numerous references to books, characters and famous locations form an impressive Westeros encyclopedia, which players can consult at any time during their adventures.
Mimicking the books, the two heroes' stories are told alternatively, chapter by chapter, each character sharing the role of main character… up until their paths cross during a common quest. Welcome to a totally innovative narrative style for an RPG.

Innovative? Betrayal at Krondor and Return to Krondor did that too a few years past.
I am gunna get it since it sounds like Martin had quite alot of involvement, and anything regarding the Westeros world is awesome. Playing as a Red Priest would be awesome as well.
