Otherland Trailer

Quote:
Otherland is based on the famous virtual reality series of novels of the same name by the best-selling author Tad Williams. The state-of-the-art technology of the Unreal Engine 3 allows the action-packed MMORPG to have visually dazzling landscapes, highly-detailed character models and top-notch effects. The developers had a wealth of material to draw upon when creating the highly-varied multiverses.

Never heard of that series or the author... No idea what I just watched but believe I want it.

Very low hope of it being any good though.

Throw together up a bunch of nonsense bundled with a generic dubstep and hope you make it the front page of popular gaming sites. BING! it worked.

I loved the books. Each book is huge, but well worth the time.

The "worlds" in the books could offer up some cool locations, but I'm sure the MMO won't be able to follow much of the plot. I would love to see some of the locations brought to life in a game.

Very very unique and talented author. I loved the Memory Sorrow and Thorn series when I was young. I would like to believe also but as pretty as it kinda looked something just seems off.. Like biting off too much in every area.. Going to keep an eye on this one.

I can't see people doing much "creating" since the Unreal engine isn't exactly user friendly.

The Otherland books were great. Tad Williams is a great author, and I loved the Memory sorrow and Thorn series of books. If you haven't read them, highly recommend them. The above looks pretty cool to me, all dubstep aside. I'll definitely be checking it out.

Dubstep is like a lazy, formulaic version of Autechre. I bought Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (partly because it had a Bowie allusion in the title) and caught on to the formula pretty quickly. Cool sounds the first couple of times, sure, but Major Disappoint thereafter.

sorry for derail, but dubstep is comparatively boring

I'm pretty sure Clubbed to Death is the main reason that dubstep resonates in people today.

The best dubstep IMO.

Termed "melodic dubstub" by the musician, Blackmill.
